Harewood Forest Walks:
Harewood Forest is a 1.3k walk through the forest along a tributary of the river in the Scotsdale area of Denmark WA. The stream at the end is the turn-around point taking the same trail back to the carpark.
Travel north along Scotsdale Road from Denmark Town and watch for the signs. It's about a ten minute drive outside Denmark.
Learn as you walk!
Filled with information on the history and flora of the area, you learn as you walk. Many birds can be heard overhead inlcuding the Fan-tailed Cuckoo, Red-winged Fairy-wrens, Purple-crowned Lorikeet,
White-breasted Robin, Red-eared Firetail, RufousTreecreeper and White-browed Babbler.
There is a bridge crossing the stream from the carpark leading to the trail. There are also a few picnic benches here if you plan to visit around lunch time!

Harewood forest is home to tall Karris and Karri oaks with lush undergrowth. During the the wetter months, you can witness a beautiful display of fungi scattered across the forest floor. In spring wildflowers of all shades and hues bloom in a magnificent display of colours, transforming the forest floor into a painter's canvas. In the summer, Harewood Forest provides a cool and shaded refuge for picnickers seeking respite from the warmth of the day. Feel free to bring along your furry companion, as dogs are welcome to accompany you on your woodland adventure.
Harewood Forest has 2 trail options.
If you're up for a 2.8km walk, the Harewood Forest Walk Trail is the perfect option, taking around an hour to complete. Some parts of the trail are steep, with steps and fallen branches, so be cautious. After rain, the trail can get slippery. For a shorter walk, you can opt for the 1.2km Harewood Walk Trail, which offers a peaceful stroll through the forest along the riverbank. Informative signs along the way share interesting information about Denmark's history and the local flora.
